Description

SG-205 is a special additive supplied as a paste form of EVA co-polymer dispersed in solvent mixture. When used for coatings including metallic pigments, SG-205 can impart excellent orientation and prevent settling of metallic pigments. This is designed for the base coat of two coat metallic automotive coating systems and industrial coatings including metallic pigments.

• Solvent : Butyl Acetate/ Xylene/ Mineral Spirit / n-Butyl Alcohol

Incorporation

Rapid dispersion can be achieved with high speed dissolver. It should be added during the dispersion stage, preferably pre-mixed in vehicle before the addition of other mill base components

Recommended Level

The typical addition level will vary depending on the type of coating formulations and required degree of aluminum orientation. In a metallic automotive coatings, a typical level is 3~10% based on total formulation weight.

Storage

SG-205 should be stored in the tightly closed original container in a cool and dry place at 5 ~ 30°C. Avoid exposure to heat source and direct sunlight. Under recommended storage condition, SG-205 may be stored up to 6 months.
